Product Description
Discover a completely new way of snorkelling with the first and original full-face snorkelling mask from Switzerland. The MINT LAMA Freebreath Round Glass Snorkelling Mask is an innovative solution for snorkelling enthusiasts. It allows you to breathe naturally through your nose while effortlessly exploring the underwater world. The mask was developed for maximum comfort and excellent underwater visibility.
Benefits of the Round Glass Snorkelling Mask
Wide field of view: The rounded 180° lens provides a panoramic, edge-free view, allowing for a complete underwater experience.
Safe breathing: The three-channel airflow system enables natural breathing through the nose and/or mouth while ensuring comfort and safety.
Anti-fog protection: The special ventilation system prevents fogging and ensures clear vision at all times.
Action camera mount: The integrated camera mount allows you to easily capture your underwater adventures.
Comfortable fit: Flexible, adjustable textile straps make the mask easy to put on and take off and help prevent hair from being pulled.
Dry Top system: The specially designed system minimizes water entry into the mask and ensures safe and comfortable use.
Construction of the Round Glass Snorkelling Mask
The MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkelling mask features an advanced three-channel ventilation system that effectively separates fresh air from exhaled air. The central channel directs fresh air into the viewing area, while the side channels expel used air outward to ensure a constant oxygen supply.
Thanks to the advanced Dry Top system, a plastic float ball automatically closes the valve underwater to prevent water from entering, while allowing air circulation at the surface.
The mask is also designed with hygiene in mind. Without a mouthpiece, it is more comfortable to wear, and a valve at the bottom of the mask allows water to drain easily.
With its shatterproof polycarbonate lens and brightly coloured snorkel tip visible from a distance, the MINT LAMA Freebreath mask is reliable equipment for all snorkelling enthusiasts.
Differences Between Round Glass and Flat Glass Masks
Round glass and flat glass Freebreath masks mainly differ in lens design, which affects how you see underwater.
The round glass mask features a curved lens that offers an edge-free viewing angle and a more immersive perspective. However, images near the edges may appear slightly distorted, creating a so-called magnifying glass effect.
In contrast, the flat glass mask minimizes distortion and provides a more realistic and clearer view, especially when looking straight ahead. However, visibility is slightly influenced by the two side edges.
The choice between these models depends on personal preference and expectations regarding visual comfort while snorkelling.
FAQ
What are the advantages of a MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkelling mask? When snorkelling, breathing underwater with a traditional snorkel is often perceived as uncomfortable, as breathing through the mouth does not feel natural and the mouthpiece can be too large, uncomfortable, and unhygienic. With the MINT LAMA Freebreath, a snorkel with a mouthpiece is no longer necessary. Simply put on the mask and breathe comfortably in and out through your nose or mouth.
What is the difference between round glass and flat glass snorkelling masks?Viewing the underwater world at a 180° angle is truly unique, and both snorkelling masks offer this experience. The round glass mask has no edges in the field of vision, allowing for even better underwater visibility than the flat glass mask. However, with round glass, the image can be slightly distorted. The curvature of the lens creates a kind of magnifying effect, similar to what is seen with action cameras such as a GoPro. When the camera is held very close to an object, the object appears larger while the background becomes smaller. This distortion may take some getting used to for certain swimmers.
With flat glass, there is little to no distortion, comparable to conventional masks. However, visibility is slightly affected by two side edges. If you are still unsure whether to choose flat or round glass: experience shows that people who have snorkelled with conventional masks for decades tend to prefer flat glass masks. The distortion of round glass can sometimes be perceived as disturbing by older users. The younger generation, accustomed to the distortion of action cameras, usually does not find this bothersome. The round glass mask remains the clear favourite overall.
Can I also dive with the MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkelling mask?Freediving is not recommended with this mask. The air volume inside the mask plays a greater role than with classic masks. After just a few metres of depth, the pressure on the face can become uncomfortable. Pressure equalisation is very important when diving, but this is not possible with this mask because the nose is not freely accessible. However, this is possible with our MINT LAMA Freebreath BALANCE and 2BREATH models.
Why can the lens fog up despite the anti-fog system? As a rule, the MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkelling mask does not fog up, as it features an anti-fog system based on a double airflow design, similar to a ventilation system. The mask should be worn so that the mouth section (silicone) fits tightly against the bridge of the nose. Air from the lower breathing area should not enter the upper viewing lens. Choosing the correct mask size plays an important role here.It can also help to wash the inside of the lens with dishwashing liquid.
How do I choose the right size?To use your MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkelling mask optimally, it is important to choose the correct size. If the mask is too small, wearing comfort is reduced. If it is too large, water may enter. The snorkelling mask is available in two adult sizes. These sizes cover approximately 95% of male and female face shapes. However, every face is different, and the information should be considered as a guideline only.

The MINT LAMA Freebreath mask is also available for children in size XS. It is difficult to specify an exact age, as children’s sizes can vary greatly. In general, children from around 5 years of age can wear the mask.

Can I wear the MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkelling mask with a full beard?A short beard (e.g. 3–5 days of beard growth) is not a problem. However, with a full beard, the mask may not seal properly against the face, and there is a risk that water may enter. We do not recommend purchasing the mask if you have a full beard.
Can I wear the Freebreath snorkelling mask with glasses? No, the Freebreath snorkelling mask cannot be worn over regular glasses. However, the large panoramic visor provides very good visibility for many users even without glasses.
How do I clean the MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkelling mask?Detach the snorkel and, as with conventional snorkelling masks, rinse the mask thoroughly with fresh tap water after use. Store it in a shaded place.

What is the difference between the round glass and flat glass snorkelling masks?
Viewing the underwater world at a 180° angle is simply unique and both snorkelling masks offer this. The round glass mask has no edges in the field of vision. This enables an even better underwater view than with the flat glass mask. However, the image is partially distorted with the round glass. The curvature of the disc creates a kind of magnifying glass effect. This effect is comparable to that of a sports camera, such as the GoPro. If the camera is held very close to an object, the object enlarges and the background becomes smaller. This distortion can take some getting used to for some swimmers. With flat glass, there is little or no distortion, comparable to conventional masks. However, visibility is slightly affected by two lateral edges. If you are still wondering whether flat or round glass: experience shows that people who have been snorkelling with a conventional mask for decades tend to prefer the flat glass mask. The distortion can sometimes be a nuisance for older people. The younger generation, who are used to the distortion of sports cameras, do not find this disturbing. The round glass mask is still the clear favourite.
Can I also dive with the MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkelling mask?
No. Apnoea diving is not recommended with these diving goggles. The air volume in the mask plays a greater role than with classic masks. After just a few metres of depth, the pressure in the face is perceived as uncomfortable. Pressure equalisation is very important when diving, but this is not possible with this mask as the nose is not freely accessible. Our MINT LAMA Freebreath - BALANCE and 2BREATH models do, however.
Why can a lens tarnish despite anti-fog protection?
As a rule, the MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkelling mask does not fog up because it has anti-fog protection thanks to a double airflow system, just like a ventilation unit. The mask should be put on so that the mouth section (silicone) lies close to the bridge of the nose. The air should not penetrate from the lower mouthpiece into the upper visor. Selecting the correct mask size plays a major role here. It may help to wash the inside of the lens with washing-up liquid.
How do I choose the right size?
To get the most out of your MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkelling mask, it is important to choose the right size. If the snorkelling mask is too small, wearing comfort will be restricted. If it is too big, water can get in. The snorkelling mask is available in two sizes for adults. These sizes cover approx. 95% of all male and female face shapes. However, every face is different and the information should only be used as a guide.
